A mother has cried out for advice after her 4-year-old son allegedly claimed that an “unseen woman” talks and plays with him in his room at night.
The concerned mother shared her experience online, explaining that she initially dismissed the behaviour because she thought her son was simply playing with his toys or using his imagination.
However, she said she became increasingly worried after he started talking to someone in his room almost every night.
‘He Will Suddenly Stop Talking’
The mother said she would sometimes be in the sitting room and hear her young son laughing and talking as though someone was there with him.
“When I enter the room, he will suddenly stop talking,” she said.
She explained that she asked him several times who he was talking to, but he would simply reply, “Nobody, Mummy.”
However, she decided to question him again after noticing that the behaviour continued.
“I told him, ‘My son, who are you always talking to in this room?’”
‘Mummy, She Is Sitting There’
The boy reportedly pointed to an empty corner of the room before telling his mother, “Mummy, she is sitting there.”
“I honestly got scared,” the mother said.
She asked her son who the woman was, and he mentioned a name she said she had never heard before.
When she asked what the woman usually told him, the boy said she talks to him and sometimes plays with him.
The mother also said her son described what the woman allegedly looks like.
“The strange thing is that he only talks about this woman when he is in his room,” the mother said.
“I have never seen anybody there, and nobody in our house has that name.”
She said she asked her son if the woman was one of his teachers or someone he knew from school, but he reportedly said no.
The mother said the situation became even more unsettling because her son sometimes sits alone and laughs as though someone is actually playing with him.
‘Goodnight. I Will See You Tomorrow’
She recalled another incident that left her uncomfortable.
“Yesterday, before he went to bed, he looked at that same corner and said, ‘Goodnight. I will see you tomorrow.’”
“I honestly didn’t know what to say,” she added.
The mother said she did not want to frighten her son or make him feel that he had done something wrong.
“I don’t want to frighten my child or make him feel like he has done something wrong,” she said.
“But as his mother, I am also worried because I don’t understand what is happening.”
Mother Seeks Advice
The mother said she was unsure whether her son was simply using his imagination or whether she needed to take the behaviour more seriously.
She asked other mothers if they had experienced something similar with their children.
“Please, mothers, has anybody experienced something like this with a child before?” she asked.
“Could this just be a child’s imagination, or should I be concerned and talk to his doctor or teacher about it?”
She added, “I really need advice because I don’t know whether I am overthinking this or my son is trying to tell me something.”
