A Nigerian man has shared a video showing the moment a suspected thief was caught while removing Gerrard roofing sheets from his family property in an estate in Ilorin, Kwara State.

According to the man, residents in the area had been complaining about repeated cases of theft and destruction of properties, which led them to set a trap to catch those responsible.
He revealed that the suspect was caught while carrying out the act after they noticed that the roofing sheets had started disappearing from the property days earlier.
Sharing the video on social media, he expressed frustration over the continuous destruction of people’s belongings and questioned the state of the country.
He wrote: “This animal in human skin was caught this morning removing the Gerrard roofing sheets at my family property in Ilorin. What an audacity! Sincerely, I am tired of this wanton destruction of people property. This property is located in a fully developed area in Ilorin (an estate). We noticed that these thieves started removing the sheets few days ago. Then, we set a trap for them and he was caught in the middle of the act this morning. He was arrested and handed over to the NSCDC in Ilorin for his prosecution. I am tired 😫. What country are we building?”
The man said the suspect was arrested and handed over to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ilorin for further action.
