Dangote Appointed Grand Patron Ahead of 2026 Global Entrepreneurship Festival

The Global Entrepreneurship Festival (GEF) has appointed Dangote Group President Aliko Dangote as its Grand Patron, honoring the African industrialist for his contributions to business development and economic transformation.

The appointment was formally presented to Dangote by a GEF delegation led by festival president Dr. Summy Smart Francis. During the visit, the board also presented the business leader with a special recognition award.

The engagement was facilitated by Dr. Elizabeth Jack-Rich, Vice Chairman of GEF, as part of the organization’s broader effort to connect established African business figures with emerging entrepreneurs and elevate the continent’s profile in the global business ecosystem.

Festival organizers stated that Dangote’s decades of experience building enterprises across key sectors of the African economy make him a vital addition to the global entrepreneurship movement.

With Dangote on board, GEF aims to strengthen partnerships with institutional investors and industry leaders to expand opportunities for economic development across Africa and internationally.

The announcement precedes the upcoming 2026 edition of the Global Entrepreneurship Festival, scheduled to take place in Egypt from November 6 to 8. The event is expected to convene global innovators, policymakers, investors, and entrepreneurs from around the world.
