A 39-year old man, Jubril Kingsley, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly engaging a health challenged woman in sex.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened sometime in January,2026 at
Iyana Ejo Street Off Unity Road, Ikotun area of Lagos, where they reside.
According to the Police, the suspect went where the victim was kept and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her.
However, he was caught and the matter was reported to the Police at Ikotun Division. He was then arrested and detained at the station for interrogation.
While being interrogated, he allegedly claimed that she was an adult despite the fact that she had health challenges.
The Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for statutory rape, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charge read:
“That you, Jubril Kingsley ‘m’ sometime in the month of January 2026, at about 0830hrs at Iyana Ejo Street Off Unity Road in Ikotun, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did unlawfully had sexual intercourse with the victim, f 18 years old, who had health challenges by penetrating her vagina with your manhood and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 260, of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.”
The Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Inspector, Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to give a date and refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O.Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
