Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s anticipated £1.3 billion acquisition of a 25% stake in Manchester United face delays amidst US upcoming national holiday.

Reports suggest that the completion of the deal may extend beyond United States Thanksgiving on Thursday.

While the purchase was initially expected to be finalized before now, there is now no guarantee of a public announcement until next week, according to Telegraph Sport.

Meanwhile, despite the delay, Manchester United’s football director, John Murtough, is reportedly set to retain his position as the club seeks a new permanent football director.

The recent departure of CEO Richard Arnold has fueled speculation about potential changes behind the scenes, with Ratcliffe’s INEOS company aiming for strategic improvements in recruitment and long-term planning.

The completion of Ratcliffe’s purchase is subject to a 6-8 week ratification process by the Premier League, and the Glazer family, retaining a majority stake, will have the final say in staffing decisions.

But Ratcliffe will focus on restructuring and addressing key issues, including the future of player Jadon Sancho and potential investments in Old Trafford infrastructure.
