A Nigerian man has sparked reactions online after sharing how his friend allegedly used AI to convince his father that a photo of him smoking was fake.
The story was shared on X by @Ewatomiby, who revealed that the friend went as far as generating another image to support his claim.
‘He Convinced Him That It Was AI’
According to the post, the friend’s father came across a picture of his son smoking and questioned him about it.
“My friend papa saw a picture of him smoking and somehow this guy convinced him that it was A.I …” the post read.
The man reportedly managed to persuade his father that the image had been generated or manipulated using AI.
‘He Generated a Picture of His Dad Smoking’
The friend allegedly took the deception further by creating another AI-generated image showing his own father smoking.
“He even went ahead to generate a picture of his dad smoking and presented it to him,” @Ewatomiby wrote.
The move was reportedly intended to convince his father that the original photo could also have been generated by AI.
