A man who swallowed some significant amount of cocaine in wraps has been jailed.
He was jailed by a Federal High Court in Lagos. The man is identified as Mr. Ejiofor Eliezer and he was convicted of unlawful importation of 2.155 kilogrammes of cocaine.
The suit was filed against him by the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). Per what we gathered, he lives in Brazil.
He was, however, arrested wayback in 2015 at the Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos and upon his arrest, it was revealed that he swallowed 100 wraps of cocaine.
He took the risk because he was poor and it was also revealed that he would have received N200000 once the substance was delivered successfully.
The sentence was passed by Justice Rilwan Aikawa, who also indicated the jail term would start running from the date the man was re-arrested after jumping bail.
