The court, in a pre- hearing report that was published and read on Tuesday by Justice Haruna Tsammani, directed that the beginning of hearings in the petition by Obi and the LP will take place on May 30. The report was issued and read by the five- member panel of the court.

The court ordered that the petitioners should complete their case within a period of three weeks, during which it should summon its intended fifty witnesses. This period will begin on May 30, when they shall begin to call witnesses, and will end on June 23, when the case will be finished.

The progress of the petition against President- elect Bola Tinubu that was submitted by Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has once again been halted.

Note that when the Tribunal first made move to merge petitions from the three different parties against Tinubu, the president-elect and his party, APC had kicked against it. However, it seems like they can’t help but comply with what the Court may decide to do onwards, as regard to combination of the all the petitions.
