Jared Leto ‘Might Be Completely Done’ After New Allegations

Jared Leto’s long-awaited Hollywood comeback is reportedly facing a major setback just as it appeared to be gaining momentum.

After years of struggling to regain his footing at the box office, the Oscar winner was expected to benefit from renewed attention surrounding “Masters of the Universe.”

Instead, the release of the BBC documentary “Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret” has shifted the focus back to allegations made against the actor, leaving fresh questions about what comes next for his career.

Rather than celebrating a career resurgence, Jared Leto is now confronting renewed scrutiny following the BBC documentary, which features allegations from 10 women, including four who accuse the actor of criminal sexual conduct when they were teenagers.

The allegations span incidents alleged to have occurred between 2002 and 2016. They include claims of sexual assault in a motel bathroom involving a 17-year-old, alleged statutory rape in California, an alleged threat of sexual assault involving a 19-year-old woman, and accusations of grooming through sexually explicit phone calls beginning when one accuser was 16.

Leto has denied the allegations and has not been charged with any crimes. In a statement released Wednesday to the Los Angeles Times, he said, “I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life. These claims are absolutely and categorically false.”

Even so, a Daily Mail insider has claimed the controversy has placed the actor’s future under a cloud.

“Jared’s career in film, TV and on stage with his music is very much in trouble,” the insider said. “He might be completely done, and he knows it. It is scary for him right now.”

According to the same source, the allegations alone could have lasting consequences, regardless of whether any criminal case emerges.

The insider alleged Jared Leto understands that public perception may ultimately influence future casting decisions.

“He knows that he is now in territory where people aren’t going to work with him, and his career trajectory is now forever hampered with these allegations,” the source claimed, adding that the 54-year-old has been left “devastated.”

The insider also referenced Armie Hammer’s career as an example of how allegations can affect employment opportunities in Hollywood despite the absence of criminal charges.

According to the source, studios, production companies, and commercial partners may be reluctant to associate with Leto while the allegations remain in the public spotlight.

“With these allegations hanging over him, even though he has denied them, it could be years before another major opportunity presents itself,” the insider stated, adding that endorsement opportunities could also be affected.

Beyond the four allegations involving alleged criminal conduct, the BBC documentary also includes additional claims from women who described encounters with the “Suicide Squad” actor while they were teenagers.

One woman alleged she was groomed after receiving repeated sexually explicit phone calls beginning at age 16 and claimed she was later presented with a nondisclosure agreement that she declined to sign.

Four other women told the BBC they also received what they described as “strange and often very sexual” phone calls while they were teenagers.

According to the broadcast outlet, aspects of several accounts were corroborated through interviews with friends and relatives who were told about the alleged incidents at the time, as well as photographs and messages reviewed during the investigation.

Leto’s Recent Film Struggles Add To Industry Uncertainty

The renewed scrutiny arrives during a period when Jared Leto’s recent film projects have struggled to meet commercial expectations.

“Morbius” underperformed at the box office before becoming the subject of widespread internet memes, while “Haunted Mansion,” in which he portrayed the Hatbox Ghost, also failed to generate the hoped-for financial results.

According to reports, “Masters of the Universe” likewise fell short of expectations despite reaching the number one spot on Amazon Prime after its theatrical run.

The Daily Mail source argued that the combination of underperforming studio releases and the latest allegations created an especially uncertain moment for the actor.

“He’s been given big tentpoles that haven’t done as well as many would expect, and that isn’t going to help either,” the insider claimed.

Rather than focusing solely on the allegations themselves, the BBC documentary has also sparked widespread discussion about why many of the women chose to speak publicly years after the alleged incidents.

Weighing in exclusively to The Blast, sexual harassment attorney and Megan Thomas Law founder Megan Thomas said delayed disclosure was common in cases involving powerful celebrities because alleged survivors often grappled with both fear and shame.

“The reason survivors in the entertainment industry often take so long to come forward is because of the combination of the fame of the entertainer and the shame carried by the survivor,” Thomas explained.

She added that widespread admiration for famous figures could leave alleged survivors questioning their own experiences, noting, “That combination of power, public admiration, and self-doubt can delay disclosure for years.”

Thomas stressed that silence should not automatically be interpreted as evidence that misconduct did not occur, but rather as a reflection of the complex emotional and psychological barriers many alleged survivors faced.
