Bella Okagbue shared her frustrating experiences with specific brands through a series of tweets.

She revealed cases in which companies sought to evade paying money by providing substitute means of payment, like “preview access to unreleased products” and giving things away for free in exchange for cooperation.

Bella Okagbue stressed that in 2023 the habit of expecting creatives to work for free should be abandoned since it is time for an industry shift.

“we want to send you items for free in exchange for collaboration” etc
