Inter secured the Serie A title with a win over rivals AC Milan.
Inter Milan secured their 20th Serie A title with a 2-1 victory over arch-rivals AC Milan. Francesco Acerbi’s header and Marcus Thuram’s goal sealed the Scudetto for Inter, who clinched the title with five games to spare, boasting a commanding 17-point lead over their city rivals. AC Milan managed to score a late goal through Fikayo Tomori, but it was not enough to dampen Inter’s celebrations.
The match witnessed intense moments, with three red cards shown in stoppage time. Theo Hernandez and Davide Calabria received red cards for AC Milan, while Denzel Dumfries was sent off for Inter. Despite the late drama, Inter’s joy remained unspoiled as Simone Inzaghi secured his first league title as a head coach.
Inter took the lead in the 18th minute through Acerbi’s goal, and Thuram doubled their advantage four minutes into the second half with a well-placed shot. AC Milan mounted a late comeback with Tomori’s goal in the 80th minute, but they couldn’t find an equalizer to delay Inter’s title celebrations.
