A woman has told her husband that she would leave the marriage if he ever cheats on her, insisting that financial provision does not give a man the right to be unfaithful.
The woman made the statement while speaking about marriage, fidelity and the expectations placed on husbands and wives.
She argued that marriage is a covenant between two people and should not be treated differently based on who provides financially for the family.
The woman said, “Because you’re a provider, you cannot say that if your wife cheats on you, she should leave, while you also cheat.”
Woman draws line over infidelity
Explaining her position, she stressed that she would not accept a husband bringing another woman or a child into their marriage and expecting her to simply overlook the situation.
She said, “Marriage is a covenant with Godbetween two people who agree to be together. So you can’t bring another woman or a child and tell me it’s a mistake and I should understand.”
The woman, who was seated beside her husband when she made the remarks, said she had already made her position clear to him.
She added, “This is my husband sitting beside me, and I have told him that if he ever cheats on me, I’m leaving.”
