A lady has sparked discussion online after revealing that she would not cook, wash clothes or clean whenever she visits her boyfriend’s home.
The lady, whose identity was not disclosed, made the comments while explaining the kind of arrangement she expects in a relationship.
According to her, visiting a boyfriend should not automatically mean taking on domestic responsibilities, particularly when she is not living in his home.
The lady said, “If you are my boyfriend and I come to your place I’m not going to do anything. I’m not going to wash cloth, I’m not going to cook, I’m not going to clean. I will not do anything.”
Lady explains her preferred living arrangement
She further suggested that her boyfriend would need to have a spacious home because of her temperament.
The lady added, “You must have like two to three bedroom flat because I have short temper so a room is not even possible.”
Her comments have drawn attention to differing expectations surrounding domestic duties in modern relationships, especially when couples spend time at each other’s homes.
For some people, cooking or helping with housework when visiting a partner may be viewed as a natural gesture of affection. Others believe such responsibilities should be discussed and agreed upon rather than automatically expected.
Statement sparks conversation online
The lady’s remarks have therefore opened up another conversation about boundaries, gender roles and expectations in romantic relationships.
While some may interpret her position as setting clear boundaries, others could view it as an unwillingness to contribute to a shared domestic environment.
The discussion highlights how couples can have significantly different expectations about what partners should do for each other, even in seemingly ordinary situations such as visiting one another’s homes.
