Popular singer Joseph Akinfenwa Donus, also known by his stage name, Joeboy, has revealed that he made a huge sum of money from being on his colleague, Ckay’s song.

The 26-year-old was featured on the remix of the global hit single, ‘Love Nwantiti’, which was remade over a dozen times.

CorrectNG recalls that CKay put Joeboy and Ghanaian singer, Kwame Eugene on the remix of ‘Love Nwantiti’ in 2019. According to Joeboy, the song changed his life and that of other artistes that did a remixed version.

He made this known on the latest episode of his podcast, Body & Soul, adding that he only accepted to be on the song because he likes CKay. The ‘Baby’ crooner revealed that CKay asked him to jump on the song after someone else turned him down.

Joeboy said; “The money Love Nwantiti gave me bruh, bruh that song changed the lives of everybody on it. That is one thing I always thank God for. Thank God, I actually jumped on that song. Anytime I play the song, I just dey happy say thank you my Gee (Ckay).

“CKay reached out to me that he was trying to get somebody on the song, but the person was not responding on time. That was like the end of 2019.

To be honest, the only reason I jumped on that song was because I just like CKay. It wasn’t about the song. That time, I just blew up and everybody was trying to drag me for features.”

Mavin boss, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has revealed why he didn’t sign music heavyweights, Wizkid and Davido, when they were still up-and-coming.

The music executive said he couldn’t sign Ayodeji Balogun also known as Wizkid to his now-defunct record label, Mo’hits, because EME boss, Banky W got to the Starboy before him.

Don Jazzy stated this while having a chat on the Leaderboard podcast hosted by Fisayo Fosudo, adding that he had the opportunity to sign Davido but didn’t because he figured out that the FEM crooner would succeed without a record label’s support.

The ace music producer also regretted not signing sonorous songstresses, Simisolo Kosoko aka Simi and Teniola Apata also known as Temi. Don Baba J said he almost signed rapper, Falz to his label, but the deal broke down.

He said; “I like Simi, I didn’t sign her. I wish I did. I like Teni, but I didn’t sign her. I wish I did. I had the opportunity of signing Davido but I didn’t because I kind of figured that he would be fine. Wizkid, obviously, I couldn’t because Banky W got to him first. That would have been amazing. Falz, I love his work. We almost had a deal.”
