I used my bike to campaign for you, now I can’t fuel it or buy food – Tinubu supporter cries out (Video)

A Nigerian man who is a supporter of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has cried out over the hardship he is facing as a result of the fuel subsidy removal and other economic policies.

He had gone viral during campaigns when he vowed to set his international passport on fire if Tinubu did not win the February 25 presidential election, but since his candidate was declared winner, there was no need to burn it.

However, in a trending video, the young man reminded the president about how he used his motorcycle to campaign for him and voted but he is currently unable to buy fuel in it because there is no money.

He appealed to Tinubu to take pity and reduce the fuel pump price so that people can afford to buy petrol. He also lamented about being hungry and not having money to buy food.

The man said he does not want to be forced to sell the bike which he customised with the words; Asiwaju Jagaban, all in an effort to get money to survive.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appealed to Nigerians to be patient and understanding as hardship intensifies as a result of economic initiatives of his administration.

He said that the challenges the country is currently facing would eventually be a thing of the past and give way to a more equitable, prosperous and inclusive economy.

Tinubu gave the assurance while addressing the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Youth Leaders from the 36 States of the federation and Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on Thursday.

He said; “I make my pledge to the country that no decision will be difficult for this administration to take for the prosperity and unity of this country. Economic reforms could be slow. Be patient a little more.

“I can assure you that I understand the pains you are going through. It’s not easy to get out the monster of over forty years called fuel subsidy.’’

Tinubu stressed that his administration would do everything necessary to widen the net to accommodate more women and youths. He further explained that this will be done, among others, by “liaising with our lending institutions to give micro-loans at a very low-interest rate for economic activities among the citizens.”
