An elderly Nigerian man has shared a heartbreaking account of his decades-long separation from his family, claiming that he spent years supporting his wife’s education in the UK before their marriage came to a painful end.

In an emotional interview that has circulated online, the man recalled how he brought his wife from Nigeria to the UK in the 1970s and financed her education up to the PhD level.

Man Recalls Taking Wife To UK For Education

The elderly man said he married his wife in 1968 before travelling to the United Kingdom in 1969. According to him, his wife later joined him in the UK in 1970.

He explained that his wife came from a poor background and that he decided to invest in her future by supporting her education.

“I married my wife from a very poor family. I tried to help her and educate her. My life investment was on her,” he said.

The man said he paid heavily for his wife’s education, including her PhD programme in the UK.

“I paid for three years for her PhD. £11,000 every year,” he said during the interview.

Man Speaks On Divorce And Family Separation

During the conversation, the man revealed that he had not lived with his family since 1983.

When asked why his family left him, he alleged that his wife made accusations against him that led to legal action in the UK.

He alleged that his wife falsely accused him of having an inappropriate relationship with their 14-year-old daughter.

He claimed the allegation eventually led to his deportation to Nigeria.

“My Children Stopped Contacting Me” – Man Claims

The elderly man also spoke about his children, saying they have not reached out to him for years.

“She poisoned their mind,” he claimed.

The interviewer asked about the daughter involved in the allegation, the man said she was 58 years old and added that she had passed away years ago.
