A 46-year-old man, Iwuala Onyebuchi, has confessed to the Police in Lagos State that he sexually molested his neighbour’s daughter by forcing her to suck his dick for 8 years and the victim is now 16.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect made the confession according to a sworn affidavit filed by the Investigating Police Officer attached to the Gender Unit of the Lagos State Police Command.
The victim’s father reported the matter to the Police on 7th April, 2026, after the victim revealed what had happened to her for those years when her father kept her in the suspect’s care and traveled.
The complainant, who is the victim’s father, alleged that his daughter, now 16 years old, had been continuously sexually assaulted by the suspect since she was 8 years old.
The affidavit stated that the complainant handed his daughter over to the suspect for care around 2019 when he travelled to Cross River State. It alleged that the suspect took advantage of the situation and instructed the girl to suck his penis, an act which allegedly continued as she grew older.
Police records indicated that the suspect, Iwuala Onyebuchi of No. 6, Oyedayo Close, Westwood Estate, Cele-Badore, Ajah, Lagos, was invited and made a statement to the Police. The document stated that he admitted to sexually assaulting the girl in 2019 and continued the act until she was 16 years old.
Following the report to the Gender Section of the State Command, the suspect, Onyebuchi, was arrested and detained for interrogation over his alleged conduct against the victim.
He was found culpable after thorough interrogation and charged
before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
The charge read:
“That you, Iwuala Onyebuchi ‘m’, sometime in the year 2019, at No. 6, Oyedayo Close, Westwood Estate, Cele – Badore, Ajah, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did sexually assault the victim ‘f’ 8years old by telling her to suck your penis and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 263 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
However, the Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Mr. Lucky Ihiehie, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O.Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
The defendant risks several years of imprisonment if he is eventually found guilty before the Court over his alleged conduct.
