A video circulating on social media has sparked shock and disbelief after a handcuffed man, described as a doctor, was allegedly seen confessing to selling the first bathwater of newborn babies to internet fraudsters popularly known as Yahoo boys.
In the footage shared on X, the man is seen in handcuffs as he responds to questions about the alleged practice. During the questioning, he reportedly explains how he collects and sells the water used to bathe babies shortly after birth.
The man’s statement has drawn attention because of the unusual nature of the allegation and the reference to newborn babies, who require special care and protection.
However, the circumstances surrounding the recording, including the identity of the man, the location where the incident allegedly occurred and the circumstances of his arrest, have not been independently established from the video.
Man allegedly explains how he collects the water
During the questioning captured in the footage, the handcuffed man allegedly admits that he routinely collects the water used for the first bath of babies born at his hospital and sells it to people he describes as Yahoo boys.
Speaking in Nigerian Pidgin English, he says:
“This thing wey I give them na newborn baby water. Any baby wey dey born for this my hospital, the first bath, I dey carry the water go sell give this Yahoo Yahoo guys.”
His statement suggests that the alleged activity was not an isolated incident but something he claims to have done repeatedly.
The footage, however, does not independently establish whether the alleged transactions occurred or what the buyers intended to do with the water.
Voices heard expressing shock
Immediately after the man allegedly made the statement, voices could be heard in the background expressing disbelief.
Some of those present were heard exclaiming, “Jesus Christ,” apparently reacting to his claim that he routinely sold the first bathwater of newborn babies.
The reaction added to the dramatic nature of the footage, which has attracted attention on social media.
