I always prayed to God for an album like Wizkid’s Superstar – Fireboy DML

Nigerian singer, Adedamola Adefolahan, better known as Fireboy DML, has revealed that at the start of his career, he always asked God to give him an album like that of Wizkid’s debut album ‘Superstar’.

He made this known while chatting with UK-based broadcaster, Adesope Olajide about the release of his own debut album, Laughter Tears and Goosebumps.

When Adesope asked him if he knew or believed that LTG would be a classic success, Fireboy explained that he was scared and doubtful because the album after he had released only two singles.

He further said that he used to ask God to give him an album like Superstar by Afrobeats singer, Wizkid.

The ‘Peru’ hitmaker also revealed that the heartbreak stories he told with the songs on LTG were that of people whose heart he broke, adding that the love stories were that of those he watched.

He went on to reveal that he finally decided to tell his own story on his sophomore album, titled; Apollo.

CorrectNG reported that the YBNL artiste had earlier made clarifications about claims that he is a playboy because he gave his new album the same name.

Speaking in an interview with media personality, Ehiz on Apple Music Africa Now, the singer who recently released his third studio album named Playboy, issued a disclaimer that he is not a playboy.

According to Fireboy, he gave the album that name to pass a message that he is about to come out from his shell, play and have fun like never before.

He noted that he’s been shying away from it in the past three years of his career, but now he’s set to step into the superstar element.

According to Fireboy, he’s been give a series of labels which range from being emotionally unavailable, and toxic.
