Manchester City keep their title hopes alive with a crucial 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Sunday.

The win brings them within a point of Premier League leaders Arsenal.

Despite Forest’s strong performance in the first half, City’s clinical strikes proved decisive.

Forest started brightly, creating multiple chances, however, wasteful finishing prevented them from capitalizing on their opportunities.

Early in the match, Neco Williams scuffed a close-range effort, while Chris Wood missed an open goal.

City, though quiet in the first half, broke the deadlock with a goal from Joško Gvardiol, who powered a header into the net from De Bruyne’s corner.

Moments into the second half, Gvardiol blocked a massive chance from Wood before Erling Haaland extended City’s lead.

Haaland received a pass from De Bruyne, skillfully evaded Murillo, and slotted the ball into the bottom-left corner.

The victory sets City up well as they prepare to host Wolves in their next outing.

Forest, meanwhile, will turn their focus to the fight against relegation as they travel to face the Sheffield United in their upcoming fixture.
