Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has congratulated his Osun State counterpart, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on his electoral victory in the just-concluded governorship election in the state.
Otti, in a congratulatory message dated August 16, 2026, also commended the people of Osun State for the peaceful and successful conduct of the election, describing the exercise as a demonstration of democratic maturity and citizens’ commitment to peaceful coexistence.
“I heartily congratulate my brother, His Excellency, Senator Ademola Adeleke, and the good people of Osun State on the peaceful and successful conduct of the just concluded Governorship Election in the State,” Otti said.
He noted that the orderly manner in which Osun residents came out to exercise their franchise, as well as the peaceful atmosphere before, during and after the election, despite some observed irregularities, was a testament to the maturity of Nigeria’s democracy.
According to him, the development also demonstrated the commitment of citizens to peaceful coexistence and the strengthening of democratic institutions.

Otti commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its professionalism in conducting the election.
He also praised the security agencies for providing a safe environment for voters and other stakeholders, while acknowledging the contributions of all those who worked to make the electoral process credible and transparent.
“This successful exercise further strengthens democratic governance in our country and reinforces the voice of the people in choosing their leaders,” he said.
Otti urged Adeleke, as he begins his second tenure in office, to remain focused on delivering people-centred governance that would improve the lives of the people of Osun State, expand opportunities and sustain peace and development across the state.
“As an Abia grandson, we stand with you and your state in the shared vision of building stronger institutions and delivering the dividends of democracy to our people,” Otti stated.
He prayed that God would grant Adeleke wisdom, good health and the strength to continue serving Osun State and its people with distinction.
