The Founder and leader of the Living Faith Church Worldwide stated that this has been happening without the support from the government or state. He also stated that the church is also not powered by the offerings of its members but they have invested resources and have people managing it.

He said;

“Light has never gone off in Canaanland since 1999. We have zero input from any government in Nigeria whether local, state or federal. Not that we collect offering every Sunday to achieve this. We invested resources and have good and very committed people that manage it.

“We teach the world that you can make your marks by depending on God.”

“They don’t use mouth to get power. You invest resources to sustain power. Have we ever raised an offering for power here? Never!”

Following the incident, Bishop Oyedepo expressed his displeasure with the degree of insecurity plaguing the entire country in a sermon at the church’s headquarters in Ota, Ogun State.

He passed immediate judgment on the killers, declaring that they, along with their supporters, would perish.
