FG Announces October TVET Stipends Expected Soon — What to Know

The Federal Government has announced a fresh update on October stipend payments under its Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme, assuring eligible beneficiaries that payments are expected to commence soon.

The update was communicated during a meeting involving the Federal Ministry of Education (FME), Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and centre managers on Friday, November 6, 2026.

According to the meeting update, outstanding supplementary stipends and payments owed to training centres are still being processed. Eligible beneficiaries have been advised to remain patient while the payment process continues.

The meeting also addressed inactive trainees ahead of the third cohort recruitment. Training centres will be permitted to unregister trainees considered unserious or inactive when Cohort III applications open.

The provision will also apply during the first two months after the recruitment of the third cohort, meaning trainees are expected to participate actively in their training.

What trainees should know

Eligible beneficiaries should await the commencement of October stipend payments and the settlement of outstanding supplementary payments. Current trainees should also remain active and participate in their training to avoid possible removal from their centres when the new monitoring provision takes effect.
