The immediate past publicity secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kano, Comrade Saidu Bello Said, has predicted a decisive defeat for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections, citing widespread public dissatisfaction with the current administration.
Speaking in a recent interview, Saidu claimed that many Nigerians are disillusioned with the government due to worsening economic conditions and what he described as a lack of respect for democratic principles. He argued that these sentiments would strongly influence voter behaviour in 2027.
He made a bold prediction, stating that President Tinubu would lose the election “before 10:00 am” on election day. Said also made a controversial remark suggesting that voters supporting Tinubu, particularly in northern Nigeria, would face severe consequences, a statement that has drawn attention.
Beyond electoral predictions, the former ADC spokesperson said the party in Kano is working to reposition itself ahead of 2027, especially in the wake of political realignments and defections, including that of former NNPP leader Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. He added that efforts were ongoing to strengthen the party’s structure.
Said also criticised the Federal Government’s economic policies, particularly the recent increase in fuel prices, questioning its justification and urging Nigerians to use the 2027 elections as an opportunity for change through the ballot box.
