Everton ready to sell Iwobi for suitable fee this summer

Everton will sell Alex Iwobi if they receive a suitable offer this summer, according to Football Insider.

The versatile midfielder is running into the final year of his contract at Goodison Park. Iwobi scored twice and notched seven assist in 38 league games.

Everton will allow the 27-year-old to leave if they receive a lucrative offer. He was offered an extension by the Toffees, during the course of last season but put it on hold as the club battle for relegationhe is yet to communicate his decision to the club.

The Nigerian International was named Everton’s best player last season. Iwobi featured in all of the Merseysiders’ 38 league games. Iwobi arrived Everton from his boyhood club, Arsenal in 2019.

Similarly, Arsenal are reportedly willing to sell their experienced midfielder Granit Xhaka for £13 million this summer, according to German newspaper, Kicker.

Xhaka has been exceptional for Arsenal this season and it’s come as a surprise that he’s been linked with a move away from north London recently.

The club’s manager, Mikel Arteta will guide Arsenal to their return to the Champions League for the first time in seven years, hence the need to bring in more experienced players.

Kicker claims that Arsenal would demand around £13 million for Xhaka this summer, with his current deal set to run until 2024.

According to a TalKSPORT report, this could ultimately spell the end of Switzerland’s international time with the Gunners.

TalkSPORT’s chief football transfer expert Alex Crook said: “Granit Xhaka is an interesting one because I think when you look at this link at first to Bayer Leverkusen you would say, ‘Well that can’t happen’.

“He has only got a year left on his contract. We know Mikel Arteta is looking at revamping that midfield area. There’s every chance they go back in for Moises Caicedo at Brighton. If a big money offer did come in, for a decent fee, for a player in the last year of his contract I think Arsenal could be tempted.”

Also, Goal reports that Arteta won’t stand in Xhaka’s way should he decide to leave the club.
