EPL: Haaland strikes again as Man City edge Coventry

Manchester City maintained their perfect start to the 2026/27 Premier League season with a narrow 1-0 victory over newly promoted Coventry City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

TheNewsGuru (TNG) reports Erling Haaland scored the only goal of the encounter in the 26th minute, heading home from an Antoine Semenyo cross.

New signing Enzo Fernández, making his Manchester City debut after his move from Chelsea, played a key role in the build-up, supplying the pass that released Semenyo for the decisive cross.

TNG reports the victory gives City three wins from three league matches and puts them on nine points.

Coventry, however, made City work for the victory and finished strongly, forcing goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma into important saves.

The result keeps City at the top of the Premier League table.
