Eid: Works minister calls for unity, national progress

By Angela Atabo

The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has extended warm Eid el-Fitr greetings to Muslim faithful, calling for unity and renewed commitment to national development across Nigeria.

Umahi, in his goodwill message on Friday in Abuja, described Eid as a time for reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment to spiritual values such as sacrifice, discipline, compassion, and obedience to Almighty Allah.

“I warmly felicitate with our Muslim brothers and sisters across Nigeria on the joyous occasion of Eid el-Fitr, marking the successful completion of Ramadan,” he said.

He emphasised that the lessons of Ramadan called for peace, justice, and kindness to all, particularly the less privileged, urging Nigerians to embrace tolerance, unity, and mutual respect for collective progress.

Umahi encouraged citizens to use the festive period to pray for peace, stability, and sustainable development, reaffirming the ministry’s commitment to deliver infrastructure that strengthened economic growth and improved quality of life.

“May Almighty Allah accept good prayers and acts of charity, and bless our nation with peace, prosperity, and good health,” he prayed.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
