Former Governor of Kaduna State, Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, has called on Nigerians to sustain prayers and uphold the lessons of Ramadan as Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Fitr.
In a goodwill message, Makarfi expressed gratitude to Allah for the successful completion of the fasting period and congratulated the Muslim Ummah.
“I fervently pray that Allah in His infinite mercy accepts our worships, prayers and sacrifices as we strove (and continue to strive) for spiritual cleansing and getting closer to Him,” he said.
He urged Nigerians not to lose sight of the values of compassion, sacrifice and unity, stressing the need to support the less privileged during the festivities.
Makarfi also called for prayers for national peace and stability.
“As we grapple with security and other socioeconomic as well as political challenges, our country is in dire need of our prayers for Allah’s guidance and protection,” he said.
He expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, noting that the country’s potential remains assured despite current challenges.
