The cause of death of legendary singer and actress Dolly Parton has been revealed following confirmation from a representative of her family.
According to her representative, Dolly died from cancer on Tuesday, August 25, surrounded by her loved ones at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville.

The news comes after her death was announced by her longtime head of security, Bryan Seaver, who shared an emotional message about the star.
In a statement, Dolly’s representatives remembered her for the joy and kindness she brought to people throughout her life.
They said she spent her life bringing “joy, laughter, hope and integrity” to everything she touched.
Her representatives also highlighted her charitable work, particularly through her Imagination Library initiative, which has provided books to children, as well as her support for medical research.
They said Dolly’s unconditional love for others remained at the heart of everything she did and was a major part of the legacy she leaves behind.
Dolly Parton, who built a remarkable career spanning music, film and television, was also widely known for her generosity and commitment to helping others.
