It may be recalled that in October 2020, Davido officially signed Liya as the first female artiste under his imprint Davido Music Worldwide. The artiste met the FEM crooner in the club through Peruzzi.

Also, in an interview in 2021, Liya recounted how he was impressed when she played some of her songs and he asked her to fly to Abuja with him the next day.

“I played Davido a couple of my songs, including ‘Melo’ and he was hooked, then he asked me and my manager to travel with him the next day to Abuja. During our trip, he started saying ‘first lady way’, then took it to Twitter,” Liya said.

Former DMW signee, Yonda appealed to music executive, Davido to forgive him for his misdeeds and welcome him back to the family.

He took to social media and shared a conversation between him and OBO, where he pleaded passionately to be given another chance.
