A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dele Momodu, has claimed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is facing an unprecedented level of public opposition ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking during an interview with media personality Rufai Oseni, Momodu argued that President Tinubu’s path to re-election would depend on meeting the constitutional requirements for victory, including securing at least 25 percent of the votes in the required number of states and obtaining the overall majority of valid votes.
Momodu further alleged that the President no longer enjoys the level of support he received from Northern voters during the 2023 election. He also claimed that many people, including some members of the ruling party, are dissatisfied with Tinubu’s leadership, adding that the President may struggle to secure support in parts of the South, including his home state of Osun.
These remarks represent Dele Momodu’s political opinion and assessment of the current political landscape. Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election has not yet taken place, and voter sentiment and political alliances may change before the election.
