Davido, Terry Waya, Kunle Afolayan, others to be conferred with national honours

The 2023 national honours recipients have been announced, including notable individuals such as Davido, Kunle Afolayan, and 337 other prominent Nigerians.

On Sunday, the Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs disclosed the awards across different categories.

David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, was awarded the Officer Of The Order of The Niger (OON) distinction.

Renowned filmmaker Kunle Afolayan was also honoured with the OON recognition. Nigerian footballer Victor Osimhen, whose goal secured Napoli its first Serie A title in 33 years, was bestowed with the MFR (Member of The Order of Federal Republic) accolade.

Terry Waya, a well-known socialite and businessman, was similarly recognized in the OFR (Order of the Federal Republic) category.

All recipients of the 2023 national awards have been requested to submit an electronic copy of their citation or resume to the ministry by May 31.

Additionally, the ministry expects the awardees to be physically present for the presentation of their medals and certificates, scheduled to take place on June 1, 2023.
