The All Progressives Congress (APC) has restructured the leadership of its 2026 National Convention Central Coordination Committee, replacing Imo State governor, Hope Uzodimma, with former Katsina State governor, Aminu Bello Masari, as the new chairman.
Governor Uzodimma, who was initially appointed to lead the committee, has been reassigned to the role of treasurer.
The leadership shake-up comes as the APC further strengthens its preparations for the upcoming national convention.
In addition to the changes at the top, the party expanded the membership of the committee from 73 to 90 to better accommodate a broader array of party stakeholders.
Among the new members added are Senator Barry Mpigi and other influential chieftains of the party.
The APC confirmed that these adjustments were made as part of a revised composition to reflect zoning considerations and other strategic needs in the lead-up to the 2026 National Convention.
The party emphasized that these changes align with the ongoing efforts to ensure a fair and inclusive process ahead of the convention.
