Chukwueze lands in Italy for Milan medicals
Samuel Chukwueze has arrived in Italy, where he will undergo his medicals with AC Milan on Wednesday. The much-anticipated move from Villareal is nearly done, as the Italian giants have successfully concluded negotiations with the La Liga club.
Sky Sport Italia reports that the deal is all but finalised, with only minor administrative formalities remaining to be resolved within the next few hours.
The Nigeria winger will sign a five-year contract with the Serie A side, which will see him earn €4m per season.
Milan are expected to announce the signing of Chukwueze soon and he will become the seventh player that Milan have signed this summer.
He will be the fifth of those seven that the club have spent a transfer fee on. The first payment will be €20m, and then there is another €8m of bonuses.
Chukwueze’s current contract with Villarreal was due to expire at the end of the ongoing season, adding further motivation to finalise the deal swiftly.
Upon completion of paperwork for Chukwueze, he will fly out to the United States of America, where he can join up with the rest of Stefano Pioli’s squad on their pre-season tour.

Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen will be ready to sign a contract extension if his salary is bumped up to $8million a year.
Tutto Napoli reports that the Nigeria international is demanding €8 million (N8 billion) per year before he agrees on a new contract.
Osimhen moved to the Serie A club two years ago and played a crucial role as they won the title after 33 years last season.
The Super Eagles superstar scored 26 goals in the league and another five in the Champions League as Napoli went all the way to the quarterfinals for the first time.
In the offseason, Osimhen has been targeted by top clubs like Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich. However, Napoli are hoping to hold onto the player and want to extend his contract till the summer of 2027, as his current deal will expire at the end of next season.
Osimhen currently earns €6 million (N6 billion) per year, but the Serie A champions want to increase his pay to €7 million per year.
