The National Chairman of the Allied People’s Movement, Dr Yusuf Mamman Dantale, has described the Christian Association of Nigeria’s award to the party’s presidential candidate, Seyi Makinde, as a vote of confidence in his leadership and acceptability among Nigerians.
Dantale said the recognition by the Christian body, alongside recognition from the Islamic faithful in Oyo State, indicated that Nigeria could recover under Makinde’s leadership.
He spoke at the weekend during Makinde’s investiture at the Ecumenical Centre, Abuja.
The APM chairman described Makinde as a detribalised leader who was non-religious and non-sectional, with respect for all segments of society.
He expressed confidence that the presidential candidate would deliver on his promise to reset the country.
Dantale urged Nigerians to rally behind Makinde, whom he described as the most credible alternative to the country’s current leadership.
He congratulated the governor for challenging the status quo, insisting that Nigeria belonged to all citizens, irrespective of their ethnic or religious backgrounds.
“Nigeria remains for all, not minding tribe, religion or extraction,” Dantale said.
He added that Makinde’s leadership would promote national unity and set the country on the path to recovery.
