BREAKING: Terrorists Invade Kwara Community, Kill Five Forest Guards, Burn Security Vehicles

 

Suspected terrorists have reportedly invaded a community in Kwara State, killing five forest guards, including their commander, in a deadly attack that has heightened security concerns in the area.

 

Sources said the assailants stormed the community in large numbers, opening fire on local security operatives during the assault. The attack led to the death of five members of the forest guard team, with the unit commander also confirmed among the casualties.

 

Eyewitness accounts revealed that the attackers operated for a period without immediate resistance, causing panic among residents who fled for safety.

 

In addition to the killings, the gunmen reportedly set ablaze security vehicles belonging to the forest guards, leaving operational assets destroyed and further weakening local security presence.

 

Local sources described the incident as coordinated and brutal, raising fears of escalating insecurity in parts of the state, particularly in forested and rural communities.

 

As of the time of filing this report, security agencies were yet to issue an official statement on the incident. However, efforts are said to be ongoing to track down the perpetrators and restore calm in the affected area.
