BREAKING: England Lionesses Comes From Behind To Defeat #Colombia And Qualify For #FIFAWWC Semis—England are a step closer to a first ever Women’s World Cup final after beating Colombia to reach the semis. Leicy Santos stunned the Lionesses to give Colombia the lead but England were soon level as Lauren Hemp capitalised on a goalkeeping error to level things up. Alessia Russo snatched the winner in the second half to set up a final four meeting with Australia.

England are through to the semi-finals of the World Cup for the third tournament in a row, after coming from behind to beat Colombia in Sydney.

A cagey first half exploded into life just before it ended, when Leicy Santos chipped the ball over Mary Earps from a wide angle to give Colombia the lead. Deep into injury time, Lauren Hemp pounced on a loose ball in the six-yard box to draw England level.

The second half was equally as tight, until an error by Daniela Arias let in Alessia Russo, who drilled England into the lead. Colombia pushed forwards in the last twenty minutes, but a back line marshalled by Millie Bright held firm to see the game out.

England will stay in Syndey to face co-hosts Australia in the semi-final on Wednesday morning.
