Authentic storytelling will define future of creator economy – Expert

France-based content creator Jimmy Bowo Mwaku has said authenticity will remain the defining factor for success in the creator economy despite the rapid rise of artificial intelligence-generated and highly edited digital content.

Mwaku, founder of Jimmy’s Officiel01, said audiences are increasingly drawn to genuine conversations and relatable experiences, arguing that trust and credibility will continue to shape long-term audience engagement.

According to him, while technology is transforming how content is produced and distributed, authentic storytelling remains essential to building lasting connections with viewers.

“People remember genuine conversations because they reflect real life,” he said. “Technology will continue to evolve, but authenticity will always matter.”

Known for conducting unscripted interviews with ordinary people in public spaces, Mwaku has built his platform around everyday experiences rather than celebrity-focused content, a format he believes resonates with diverse audiences.

As artificial intelligence becomes more prominent in digital content creation, industry analysts say creators who prioritise meaningful engagement and audience trust are increasingly better positioned for sustained growth in the evolving creator economy.

Looking ahead, Mwaku said he intends to expand into educational content while maintaining the spontaneous interview style that has become the hallmark of his platform.

He added that the future of digital media would increasingly favour creators who emphasise trust, empathy, and authentic human interactions over the pursuit of short-term viral trends.
