The Nigerian Army has commissioned the renovated five-unit Corporal and Below Quarters at the TA Lagbaja Cantonment, reaffirming its commitment to improving the welfare and living conditions of its personnel through provision of modern and habitable accommodation.
The project was commissioned on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, by the Commander, Nigerian Army Corps of Engineers, Major General ST Shafaru.
Speaking during the ceremony, Major General Shafaru reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of its personnel, stressing that decent accommodation remains a critical component of the Chief of Army Staff’s “Soldiers First” culture. He noted that the renovation reflects the Army leadership’s resolve to enhance the standard of living of officers and soldiers while providing a conducive environment for them and their families.

Also speaking, the Commander 9 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Ayokunle Owolabi, commended the Chief of Army Staff for his sustained investment in the renovation and development of barracks infrastructure across the country. He assured that the newly renovated facility would be properly maintained and effectively utilised for the benefit of personnel.
In his remarks, the Managing Director of Heighest Ventures Limited, Engineer Adewumi Oyekola, expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Army for the confidence reposed in the company to execute the project. He described the assignment as a privilege and reaffirmed the company’s reputation as a dependable engineering and construction firm committed to excellence.
Engineer Oyekola stated that the renovation was executed with strict adherence to engineering best practices, quality assurance standards, and timely project delivery, ensuring that the facility meets the expectations of the Nigerian Army and provides lasting value to its occupants.
Also speaking, the Chief Executive Officer of Heighest Ventures Limited, Mr Olaniyi Odina, thanked the Nigerian Army for the opportunity to contribute to the improvement of military infrastructure. He emphasized that the successful completion of the project reflects the company’s dedication to professionalism, innovation, and quality craftsmanship.
Mr Odina assured the Chief of Army Staff and the Nigerian Army of Heighest Ventures Limited’s readiness to continue partnering with the military in delivering durable, high-quality infrastructure projects that support operational effectiveness and improve the welfare of personnel across the country.
