Top Nigerian pastor found dead in Ondo hotel

Mr Omotayo Ezekiel Fajana, a 71-year-old cleric, was found dead in a hotel in Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, just hours before he was to be installed as the Head Prayer Warrior Father of a Cherubim and Seraphim Church.

Fajana had come to town to attend a church program at Ogo Orimolade C&S Church in Okerigbo, where the installation was planned.

The event took a tragic turn when the elderly cleric was reportedly found dead in his hotel room.

His death has caused concern among his family and members of the church.

Sources said there was controversy after his body was reportedly moved from the hotel to a mortuary in nearby Ikare-Akoko before a formal medical certification of death was given.

This situation has raised questions about whether the right procedures were followed after the cleric was found dead.

Family members reportedly asked law enforcement to investigate, which led to a full inquiry into the incident.

Detectives are working to find out the cause of death and piece together what happened before the tragedy.

They are also trying to find out who was with the deceased before he was found dead.

Three people have reportedly been taken into custody and are helping the police with their investigation.

DSP Jimoh Abayomi, the spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, revealed that the case is currently under investigation.

He said detectives are looking into every aspect of the case to determine whether there was any foul play.
