‘Amaechi Was Unhappy That I Came & Turned Rivers State Around And I Was Loved By The People’ – Wike

The Former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has accused the Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi of not transforming Rivers State while he was governor of the state. Wike alleged that Amaechi was envious of his achievement as Governor and how he had wooed the people to love and support him.

He stated further that his vocal speeches during his administration were because of the hostility toward Rivers State while he was governor. He alleged that despite all this, a lot of people were surprised about the level of development that has been achieved in the state. According to him, he had to inform the world so that they would know what is going on. 

He said, ”When you don’t love your people, you begin to act against them. Rotimi Amaechi had an opportunity to work for Rivers State but he failed. He was unhappy that I came and turned Rivers State around and was loved by the people. So he worked against all the development in the state. We had a hostile federal government against our state and people are still surprised about the level of development. And so if I don’t shout and let the world know, they won’t know. There is nothing the Federal Government didn’t do to us.”
