Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is also among those who hold great admiration for Peter Obi, much like Kanayo. In a recent interview, the former military leader openly proclaimed that Peter Obi was the most suitable candidate for the better country that we all desire.

Leading up to the presidential elections, the former president had been publicly announcing his endorsement of Peter Obi as his favorite candidate.

However, following the result of the presidential election held on February 25, Obi is currently in court, disputing the outcome that led to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu assuming power.
