Chief Ahmed Ajibola, who recently resigned from the City Boy Movement in Oyo State, has dismissed reports on some blogs linking his exit from the group to alleged misconduct, insisting that he resigned voluntarily after declining two separate appointments offered to him by the organisation.
Ajibola described the allegations as false and a deliberate attempt to tarnish his reputation, maintaining that there was no disciplinary action or query against him before his resignation.
Documents obtained by journalists indicate that Ajibola received two separate offers to continue serving in different capacities within the Movement shortly before he resigned.
The first letter, dated August 1, 2026, and signed by the State Director of the City Boy Movement in Oyo State, Hon. Olufemi Onireti, informed Ajibola that his position had been changed from State Coordinator to Coordinator, Directorate Affairs, following a reshuffle of the State Executive Council.
Under the new arrangement, he was expected to report to the State Deputy Director while coordinating and supervising the activities of the Movement’s directorates across Oyo State.
Another letter, dated August 5, 2026, from the National Leadership of the Movement, offered Ajibola the position of Coordinator of Stakeholders’ Engagement for the South-West Geopolitical Zone.
The appointment, according to the letter, was a zonal-level assignment that would require him to report to the South-West Zonal Coordinator for an initial tenure of 12 months.
Ajibola, however, said he turned down both appointments before submitting his resignation from the organisation.
According to him, the existence of the two appointment letters clearly contradicts claims circulating on some online platforms that he was forced out of the Movement over misconduct.
“The records speak for themselves. I was offered two different positions within a matter of days before I chose to resign. There was no disciplinary query, suspension or any form of misconduct proceedings against me,” he said.
He added that his decision to step down was entirely personal and should not be misrepresented.
Ajibola urged the public to disregard what he described as unfounded reports aimed at misleading the public and damaging his reputation.
He also called on those spreading the allegations to desist from circulating false information, stressing that the documented sequence of events reflects the true circumstances surrounding his resignation.
The former State Coordinator maintained that his relationship with members of the Movement remains cordial despite his decision to leave the organisation.
He reiterated that his resignation was a voluntary decision taken after carefully considering the offers extended to him by both the state and national leadership of the Movement.
