A woman has shared a deeply distressing account of alleged sexual abuse by her father, saying the abuse began when she was a child and continued for years.
In an emotional account, the woman said her father repeatedly sexually abused her while presenting the relationship as something normal between a husband and wife.
She alleged that the abuse became a regular occurrence whenever they were alone, leaving her afraid of returning home.
‘He always called me his wife’
The woman said she was her father’s only child and had been extremely close to him while growing up.
According to her, she initially viewed his description of her as his “wife” as an innocent expression of affection, especially because her mother sometimes made similar jokes.
She said her perception changed when her father began touching her in ways that went beyond what she understood as normal father-daughter affection.
She explained that, because she was young and did not understand what was happening, she initially believed the behaviour was normal.
However, she said her father later justified the abuse by telling her that such acts were normal between a husband and wife.
“My father started molesting me since I was a child. I could say since I was a baby.”
She alleged that the abuse continued repeatedly, particularly when her father found an opportunity to be alone with her.
Threatened into silence
The woman also recalled how her father allegedly used her favourite teddy bear to frighten her into keeping the abuse secret.
She said the teddy bear had been given to her by her father and was one of the things she loved most while growing up.
According to her, whenever she considered making noise or telling her mother what was happening, her father would allegedly stab the teddy bear several times.
She said he then threatened to do the same thing to her mother if she disclosed the abuse.
The woman said the threat was particularly frightening because she deeply loved both her mother and the teddy bear.
She alleged that the threats kept her silent for years.
‘My home became a place I never wanted to go back to’
The woman said the experience affected how she viewed her childhood home.
Rather than seeing the house as a place of safety, she said she began dreading returning home each day.
“My home became a place that I never wanted to go back to.”
She said she often wished the day would not end because returning home meant facing the fear associated with the alleged abuse.
The woman also revealed that her mother never discovered the secret before her death.
Pregnancy after her mother’s death
The woman said her mother suffered from a recurring illness before she died when the woman was 18.
She explained that she was left alone with her father following her mother’s death.
According to her account, she became pregnant by her father a few months after burying her mother.
“A few months after I buried my mom, I got pregnant for my father.”
