
A Nigerian man has shared details of his encounter after arriving in the United States in 2018.
In a widely circulated tweet, the man opened up on why he left Nigeria and how he survived in the US.


Man Shares Encounter After Arriving US
Identified as @Sgtshow01 on X (formerly Twitter), he worked 12-hour night shifts at a factory from 7 pm to 7 am.
Meanwhile, he slept for 3 hours in the factory’s parking lot from 7 am to 10 am before heading to class.
However, during classes from 11 am to 5 pm, he often dozed off before heading to work.
“I’ll sleep for 3hrs in the parking lot of the factory from 7am to 10am then go to class. I was studying full stack Java development.Class was 11am to 5pm, I’ll sleep in class for another hour before driving to work again“, He added
Balancing School and Work
Meanwhile, this routine continued for four months, barely getting him through the program as he became mentally exhausted.
Amid the struggle, he was sleep-deprived and barely ate during the winter season.
”I was barely eating through that winter. That period was not the hardest time in the USA. You don’t want to know the hardest period. I can’t share”, He added.
