Adekanmbi, Peller ignite Oyo North as APM ‘Thank You’ tour hits Iseyin

The Allied People’s Movement (APM) governorship candidate in Oyo State, Hon. Abimbola Adekanmbi, and the party’s senatorial candidate for Oyo North, Hon. Shina Peller, received a rousing welcome in Iseyin on Thursday as the party concluded its statewide “Thank You” tour across the Oyo North Senatorial District.

The event, held at the historic Iseyin City Hall, attracted thousands of party members, supporters, market women, youth groups and community leaders from Iseyin, Itesiwaju, Kajola and Iwajowa Local Government Areas.

The gathering marked the final stop of Adekanmbi’s appreciation tour across the federal constituencies in Oyo North ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The atmosphere was lively as party supporters converged on the venue hours before the arrival of the APM leaders, with drumming, singing and chants filling the streets.

As Adekanmbi and Peller arrived at the venue, they were greeted by cheering supporters in what party leaders described as a demonstration of the APM’s growing grassroots support in the Oke-Ogun axis of the state.

Addressing the gathering, Peller thanked the people of Iseyin and the wider Oyo North Senatorial District for their support and confidence in the party.

“What we are witnessing today is not just a political gathering; it is a movement of the people, by the people and for the people,” he said.

“Iseyin and the entire Oyo North are ready for real progress. With Bimbo Adekanmbi leading Oyo State and our team working together, we are committed to building an inclusive future where Oke-Ogun and every part of the state can thrive.”

Adekanmbi, in his remarks, expressed appreciation to Peller and party members for what he described as their exceptional mobilisation and commitment.

He said the appreciation tour was an opportunity to reconnect with party supporters and engage directly with communities across the state.

“The warmth and encouragement we have received throughout this tour have strengthened our resolve to continue working for the people. We remain committed to building a government that prioritises grassroots development and responds to the needs of every community,” he said.

The governorship candidate added that the engagement would also help shape the party’s policy agenda ahead of the next election.

The event was attended by members of the APM state executive, youth and women leaders, traditional representatives and political stakeholders from across the Oke-Ogun zone.

Among those present were the chairman of the alliance, Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro; Vice Chairman, Hon. Wasiu Adeleke; political leader, Alhaji Omokunmi Mustapha; Chairman of Iseyin Local Government, Hon. Bisi Rasaq Fadiran; Iseyin APM Chairman, Alhaji Musediq Adele; and the party’s House of Assembly candidate for the Iseyin/Itesiwaju State Constituency, Hon. Dasola Fadiran.

The gathering also attracted traditional representatives, community leaders and thousands of supporters dressed in APM colours.

Party leaders said the successful conclusion of the “Thank You” tour reflects the party’s growing presence across Oyo State as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.
