Abia traditional rulers nullify libation poured against Governor Alex Otti

Some traditional rulers from different communities of Ibeku Egwu Asaa  in Umuahia North local government area of Abia State have reversed a libation reportedly performed against Governor Alex Otti by a former Commissioner  in the State, Charles Ogbonnaya.

Ogbonnaya, in a video circulating online, was seen pouring  water on the ground,  raising  a kola nut while lamenting that Governor Otti had allegedly denied the ancestors of the land their rights by his decision to run the affairs of Abia State from his private home of Nvosi in  Isiala Ngwa South LGA, instead of the Government House Umuahia.

But reacting to the development, some traditional rulers and community chiefs from Ibeku land have performed another libation to “nullify and reverse”  the previous prayers of the former Abia Commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs.

The monarchs, who came from different communities of Ibeku clan, described the former Commissioner as their prestigious son but said his actions did not receive their blessings.

The monarchs made it clear that it was wrong for any body to perform such traditional role without the approval or knowledge of the traditional rulers who are the custodians of the land.

They noted that they were so far  proud of Governor Alex Otti’s performance, saying that no body should use the name of Ibeku land to play politics.

“Our son performed a role he was not mandated to perform. We are not dissatisfied with what our son did.

“He is our distinguished son but the action he took was not good and was  never approved by we, traditional rulers, the custodians of the land.

“All evil wine and words against Governor Alex Otti are reversed. It shall be well with with  Governor Alex Otti,” the Ezes concluded.
