Jammu and Kashmir: Sikh leaders demand law against forced conversion of Sikh women to Islam

Published

on

A group of Sikh leaders are demanding a law against forced conversions in Jammu and Kashmir.

These forced conversions stem from the status of non-Muslims and women in Islamic law. In Islam, women are inferiors and infidel women are allowed to be taken as sex slaves to do whatever the Muslim male wishes.

The seizure of Infidel girls and their use as sex slaves is sanctioned in the Qur’an. According to Islamic law, Muslim men can take “captives of the right hand” (Qur’an 4:3, 4:24, 33:50). The Qur’an says: “O Prophet! Lo! We have made lawful for you your wives to whom you have paid their dowries, and those whom your right hand possesses of those whom Allah has given you as spoils of war” (33:50). 4:3 and 4:24 extend this privilege to Muslim men in general. The Qur’an says that a man may have sex with his wives and with these slave girls: “The believers must win through, those who humble themselves in their prayers; who avoid vain talk; who are active in deeds of charity; who abstain from sex, except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or the captives whom their right hands possess, for in their case they are free from blame.” (Qur’an 23:1-6)

In the UK, Muslim rape gangs use British non-Muslim girls as sex slaves. Sikh girls have also been abused and “groomed” for decades.

Yet Wikipedia dismissed “Love Jihad” in India as “Islamophobia,” but claimed that “Reverse Love Jihad” by Hindus against Muslims is real.

The protest demanding an anti-conversion law in Jammu and Kashmir to protect Sikh women was led by the religious party, Jag Aasra Guru Ott (Jago). “They have also submitted a memorandum regarding the same to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

“J&K: Protest Held Against ‘Forced’ Conversion Of Sikh Women To Islam,” Outlook Magazine, June 29, 2021:

A Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader has alleged that four Sikh women were forcibly married and converted to Islam in Kashmir recently and demanded that they be returned to their families as well as a law against forced conversions.

Hours after the claim was made, several members of the Sikh community gathered outside the Jammu and Kashmir Bhawan to protest. “A few among them were detained briefly but were released soon. The crowd dispersed after their memorandum was submitted to the authorities concerned,” a senior police officer said.

The protest was led by the Jag Aasra Guru Ott (Jago), a religious party recognised under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. According to party president Manjit Singh GK, the protest was held to demand an “anti-conversion” law in Jammu and Kashmir. They have also submitted a memorandum regarding the same to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said.

Meanwhile, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa, who is also the president of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, tweeted saying he spoke to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and met the Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) over the issue.

“Just had a tele-conversation with Home Min @AmitShah Ji w.r.t to the issue of Sikh girls forcibly married & converted in Srinagar. He assured us that he is monitoring the situation closely……
