I’ve been singing Burna Boy’s songs since high school – Black Sherif

Budding Ghanaian rapper, Black Sherif says he’s been a huge fan of Nigerian Afrobeats star, Damini Ogulu popularly known as Burna Boy, since his school days.

The Black Sermon crooner who made this known recently, revealed that he used to sing Burna’s songs with friends when he was still in high school.

He appreciated the Grammy-winning singer for showing him support ever since he hit the limelight.

The Hip Hop artiste said he and his friends in school would sing the African Giant’s songs with the school’s life band.

Black Sherif, who featured Burna Boy on the remix of Black Sermon, said he and his classmates were thrilled with the way the ‘Dangote’ crooner showed him love and support.

He further said that those moments meant more to his community than to him and he loves Burna for that.

He said; ‘‘Back in high school, I used to sing his songs with the mandem and the school’s live band so it was mad for me and my classmates to have him support me the way that he has and is. Those moments weren’t just for me but my whole community. I love Burna. Love to you, bro”

Meanwhile, American rapper, Bobby Shmurda got the internet buzzing with mixed reactions after he showed that he is a fan of Nigerian singer, Burna Boy.

A video which made the rounds online captured him singing along to Burna’s global hit song, ‘Last Last’ off his Love, Damini album.

Bobby Shmurda attempted singing the song word-for-word from the beginning to the end but it was a bit of a struggle to get the lyrics though he started well.

The 28-year-old rapper took to his Instagram page to upload a video of him singing the African Giant’s Last Last.

He hinted that he had no idea what Burna Boy was saying but he loves the track and anytie he hears it play he keeps trying to get the lyrics and sing it correctly.

Bobby wrote: “Who else love this song but don’t know what this mf saying but Everytime this bit*ch come on I keep trying I’m gett it one”.
