Phoenix police officers shot and killed Ali Osman when he would not stop throwing rocks at them. Now the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is once again getting on TV, this time to call for an independent investigation into the shooting.
CAIR has nothing to do with the shooting of Ali Osman, and TV stations never explain why CAIR’s opinions or demands are important or newsworthy.
This story out of Phoenix is another example of CAIR getting on TV in connection with something that has nothing to do with the organization’s stated mission. Additionally, it is yet another example of CAIR’s antipathy towards police and law enforcement in general.
Of 28 televised CAIR attacks on individuals or groups last year, one third were about CAIR threatening to have police fired, or in some other way clashing with law enforcement. This year, out of 27 CAIR attacks that have been given TV coverage so far, one quarter are CAIR going after cops, correction facilities, or Customs and Border Protection agents.
The only time CAIR likes cops is when CAIR representatives are ordering the police around.
During the New Mexico murders news cycle, CAIR’s honcho in Houston had local law enforcement jumping through hoops. CAIR importuned the Georgia police for a year to apprehend the desperados who gave a Muslim family the finger. CAIR was perfectly fine with the police arresting 13-year-old boys for throwing firecrackers. Even though local Muslims didn’t think it was a big deal, but CAIR pressured police to apprehend the girl who spray painted “utterly blessed” on the side of a mosque.
But otherwise, CAIR just displays an irrational, reflexive hatred of cops.
In Minnesota, CAIR found itself campaigning to get the head of the police union, Bob Kroll, fired. Not because he did anything wrong, but because of something CAIR imagined he probably did.
When an Illinois teenager resisted arrest by clinging to an illegal loaded pistol, CAIR wanted the cops fired.
A police chief in Ohio lost his job after an ill-conceived attempt at humor. CAIR got on TV to threaten his pension, even though once again the organization had nothing at all to do with any of it.
There is never any discussion of who CAIR is, where it came from, what CAIR reps were doing before they formed CAIR, where their money comes from, who their friends are, what court cases they have been involved in, or how they arrogated the authority to have people fired on TV.
But TV stations just love them, and give them dozens of opportunities to attack people every year.
According to sources including the FBI, the Treasury Department, the Department of Justice, and a federal judge, there is ample evidence of CAIR’s associations with Hamas.
And isn’t this hatred of police exactly what you would expect from such a group?

PHOENIX — The Arizona chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations is calling for an investigation into a recent Phoenix police shooting of a Muslim man suffering from mental health issues.
The group is calling for a probe into the death of 34-year-old Ali Osman, who was shot by Phoenix officers Saturday after police say he refused to stop throwing rocks at them.
“Because of the circumstances of this disturbing incident, we call on city officials to conduct an independent and transparent investigation in order to determine whether the actions of the officers were within policy guidelines and the boundaries of the law,” said CAIR Arizona Executive Director Azza Abuseif.
Officials said patrol cars were driving through an intersection after responding to an unrelated call in the area when Osman was throwing objects in the intersection.
Officers turned around and made contact with Osman.
He allegedly threw a rock at officers and did not follow officer commands.
